Antigua and Barbuda citizenship signs visa-free with China
The Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship Program recently added China to list of 150 countries that can enter without visa, as a boost for its holders.

Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne officially opened his country’s embassy in Beijing, China on January 23, during a ceremony held at the Sunniton Diplomatic Complex in Chaoyang District.
During his speech, His Excellency President Gaston explained that this step aims to enhance and strengthen relations between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the People’s Republic of China.

The President of Antigua arrived on an official visit to China, and told reporters during his arrival that the goal of the visit is to bring more investments to Antigua and strengthen trade relations with China. He praised the role played by China in economic and social development.
During the visit, a mutual visa exemption was signed between China and Antigua and Barbuda to enhance cooperation and support from the two countries. This means that Antiguan citizens can now travel to China without a visa.
Meeting to lift the visa on Antigua and Barbuda citizenship
After the meeting between the President of Antigua and the President of China, the President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, said: “I am happy about your fifth visit to China. We haven’t seen each other for ten years, and you are the first head of state from Latin America and the Caribbean to visit China this year. I appreciate your commitment to the one-China principle and your support for China on core issues.”
He continued: “We will seek to support you in all fields in a way that enhances strategic development cohesion with you, which leads to strengthening bilateral relations to achieve more results that benefit both countries.”
He also said: “For 41 years, the two countries have respected each other and upheld their sovereignty, and we are ready to enhance high-quality cooperation in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, green economy, blue economy and digital economy.”
He added, “The two countries should also cooperate in popular and cultural fields and cooperate in the fields of tourism, aviation and health care. China is ready to help Antigua in matters of climate change and visa exemption between the two countries. He also welcomed young people from Antigua to come to study in China.”
The President of Antigua, Mr. Gaston Browne, responded: “I appreciate your warm meeting with me and my delegation. Your leadership is an inspiration to all countries of the world, and we hope that the rest of the countries, especially the small ones, will follow your example to build a more just and harmonious planet.”
He added, “China put forward the Belt and Road Principle and the Global Development Initiative, Global Civilization and Global Security, which aim to promote prosperity and peace among participants around the world, and has been widely appreciated by everyone.”
