The Portuguese government passed a law in October 2012 to launch the residency by investment program, also known as a golden visa program.
To be able to apply for this program, you should be at least 18 years of age,in good health, and without a criminal record. As this is a residency program, you are required to visit Portugal for 7 days per year in the first 5 years.
The Spanish Government introduced Law 14/2013 on the 27th September 2013 and gave the opportunity to non-EU citizens to obtain a Residence Permit by investing in Real Estate in Spain for a minimum value of EUR 500,000.
A residence permit for one year is issued and can be renewed (for a 2-year period each time), provided that the applicant still owns the real estate property. The residence permits do not allow a right to employment of any type.
The Greece Residency by Investment program was introduced by the government in 2013.
