Saint Kitts and Nevis Citizenship: New Diplomatic Relations

A new diplomatic cooperation document has been signed between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Sultanate of Oman, the new Gulf state. This news is particularly relevant to holders of Saint Kitts and Nevis citizenship, one of the most popular Caribbean citizenship programs.

The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis was represented by Her Excellency Maurice Agatha Williams, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, while the Omani side was represented by His Excellency Omar bin Said Al Kathiri, Permanent Representative and Minister of State of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations.

The agreement was signed on August 12, 2025, at the Permanent Mission of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York City, based on the cooperation and friendship between the two parties. Which received extensive media coverage from Omani and Saint Kitts and Nevis news agencies.

Through these and other diplomatic steps, particularly with the Arabian Gulf region, Saint Kitts and Nevis has clearly demonstrated its determination to diversify its investments. 

Saint Kitts and Nevis has also placed the Gulf Cooperation Council on its agenda to further its investment objectives and continue its pursuit of building strategic partnerships to support trade and the economy.

The Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations expressed her views on this agreement, saying, “The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis looks forward to strengthening relations with the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.” She conveyed the greetings of Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, to the Omani government.

His Excellency Omar bin Said, Ambassador of Oman to the United Nations, affirmed the Omani government’s welcome of this step, which stems from the two countries’ efforts to enhance dialogue and open up horizons of joint cooperation to serve the interests of both friend countries.

Commenting on this relationship, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis said, “The Gulf Cooperation Council is one of the most prominent economic centers in the world, and Saint Kitts and Nevis seeks to diversify its diplomatic partnerships and enhance trade and investment cooperation with these countries.” He added, “Communicating with the Sultanate of Oman is an important step in this direction.” 

In turn, the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis commented on the partnership, saying, “This partnership will fulfill the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ strategic vision of opening up to non-traditional partners, and the relationship between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Sultanate of Oman could later expand to include the areas of culture, tourism, and investment.” 

His Excellency President Terrance Drew added, “This partnership will provide opportunities for students, engineers, and innovators from both sides to explore the Middle East and the Caribbean, seizing new opportunities in the fields of development and diplomacy.”
